Rudy has argued more than 50 appeals at the Federal Circuit in various intellectual property matters, and has been lead counsel in intellectual property trials (both jury and non-jury) and ADR proceedings before numerous courts throughout the United States.  His cases have involved a variety of technologies such as pharmaceuticals, herbicides, medical devices, genetically engineered plants and biological chemicals. He argued on behalf of client Rohm & Haas before the United States Supreme Court, and established an important exception to the antitrust laws for control of unpatented products under contributory infringement standards. Rudy was also lead counsel in the successful enforcement of Pfizer’s patents covering Lipitor®, the world’s best-selling drug. He has acted as an arbitrator/special master in resolving intellectual property disputes as well.

Additionally, Rudy has written and lectured extensively on a wide variety of patent, trademark and trade secret matters.
