John is a proven change agent, helping individuals and organizations achieve excellence through his experience as a global law firm leader, diversity professional and executive coach. He serves as Reed Smith's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Global Chair, leading Reed Smith’s efforts to sponsor and achieve diversity and inclusion in the legal community. Reed Smith is a global law firm with over 3,000 employees in 31 offices around the world. Some of the most notable accomplishments during his tenure as DE&I Global Chair:

  • Navigated and championed the firm's efforts to support diverse talent during the COVID pandemic and to develop tangible goals to advance and support Black talent in the wake of the murders of George Floyd and many others.
  • Recognized as one of the top three major law firms to receive the Thomas Sager Award from
    the Minority Corporate Counsel Association for diversity & inclusion programming and
    successes (2019)
  • Reed Smith’s ranking in the American Lawyer Annual Diversity Scorecard moved from #120 to #22 (2017-2022)
  • Increased number of diverse lawyers by 76% (2016-2021)
  • Decreased attrition of diverse lawyers from 21% to 17% (2016-2021)
