Dave’s practice innovation team leads the design and development of Reed Smith’s award-winning extranet platform, ouRSite^TM. He guides the customization of ouRSite to meet clients’ needs and creates useful deal, case, and contract lifecycle management solutions. Dave and his team, in collaboration with a client and our client value and IT development teams, were recognized as 2017 Association of Corporate Counsel Value Champions for co-creating a case management solution in ouRSite. In 2019, the practice innovation team was recognized by The American Lawyer as the Best Client/Law Firm Team for their collaboration with a long-term client on an end-to-end contract management solution in ouRSite.

Dave leads Reed Smith’s in-house document automation team, which is among the most highly developed in the market. He facilitates knowledge sharing through Reed Smith’s intranet, enterprise search, and custom knowledge management databases. Dave also directs the analysis, design, and project management of custom-developed legal software solutions, which include RStart, a self-service web toolkit for start-ups; and Breach RespondeRS, a mobile app that provides immediate guidance upon a data breach.

Prior to joining Reed Smith, Dave practiced as a litigator. Upon developing an aptitude for legal technology, he moved into software development, designing and implementing state-of-the-art legal technology solutions. Dave then led an in-house team delivering innovative legal technology solutions for another prominent Am Law 100 firm.

Dave is a thought leader in the legal community, including the International Legal Technology Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium.
